The Communications Committee oversees both internal and external affairs for the Wharton Asia Exchange. Internally, the committee spearheads the recruitment process during the beginning of the semester by promoting the club through clubbing nights, activities fairs, and information sessions, while supervising the application and selection process. The committee also focuses of community development within the club, such as planning bonding activities, organizing instructive boot camps and GBMs, and informing members about WAX events and opportunities through updating the weekly newsletter. Externally, the committee seeks to advertise WAX through designing promotional materials, after coordinating with the other committees, and crafting an image for WAX while maintaining brand integrity and developing recognition through marketing channels, including our website, graphics, publications, and social media outlets. Moreover, the committee also maintains the club’s alumni database in order to establish a strong network for WAX members to benefit from, both during their time in the club and after they graduate. Overall, the committee seeks to promote the entire well-being of the club by establishing strong ties between its members and the rest of Penn’s population in order to further the success of WAX as a whole.
